Finding out what goes in our mouth really gives us awareness with regards to our health. Over the years, we have been used to selecting food that we like because there are lots to choose from. We have even invented a myriad of recipes and food items that really became a hit to almost all people around the world. Our taste buds seemed to develop coupled by our wild imaginations that led to the creation of modern food ideas; foods that are tasty, easy to prepare and have long shelf life. But did you know that besides their palatable taste, something gross hides behind them. The culprits that we’re talking about are the chemical additives that manufacturers put to make food appear and taste sumptuous.
In this video, there are some facts that all of us should know about the food we eat, and it might creep you out. Most of us don’t know anything about it. We just want to eat good food, but sadly, most of those good foods are not beneficial to our health however tasty they may be. Here, we can see some eye-opening truths that will somehow change our diet from now on.
Who doesn’t want hamburger? I don’t know any person who doesn’t like hamburger. It’s a well-loved food that probably originated in North America, if I’m not mistaken. It was coined from a German city of Hamburg. Hamburger patties are made out of ground meats, beef being the type of meat usually used, or a mix of beef and pork. It is said that 70% of market ground beef contains ammonia-doused pink slime. It’s probably the little liquid stuff in the ground beef, the beef juice. It’s where the spoiling starts to take place that contaminates the entire batch of meat. Well, it’s better to choose fresh ones next time.
It never came to our knowledge that factory-raised chickens are fed with feeds containing arsenic to make the chickens’ meat pink. I didn’t know that either. But as shoppers, it’s pleasant to see the meat we buy pink because we think that the pinker the meat, the fresher it is. We have been used to that rule of thumb over the years, but it's not so.
Now, let’s go to have a hotdog discussion. When we were kids, we so loved to eat hotdogs almost everyday. Children love hotdogs so much. Little did we know that behind that flavorful charisma lurks some chemicals that can give us health problems. The process of making hotdogs includes meat trimmings and chemicals to make them look and taste irresistible.
Fake honeys are obviously disastrous to one’s health. Instead of getting the nutrients and antioxidants from real honeys, all you get is sugar overloads from fake ones that could spell trouble for your spleen.
Shrimp is a delectable food item, but according to some tests, imported shrimps contain cancer-causing chemicals. The chemicals could be for preservation, to retain their freshness during shipment.
It’s better to grate your own cheese rather than to buy grated ones because research shows that grated ones contain refined wood pulp to prevent them from clumping. Wow! I don’t want to include wood in my diet. How about you?
