But sadly, 29-year old performer and singer Irma Bule suffered a twist of fate that claimed her life. She's a popular stage performer in Dangdut, a combination of Indonesian folk and traditional pop music.
Her performance includes a dose of "goyang ular" or snake dance moves. The popular singer and performer has three children. She began singing after she finished junior high school and from there she started to become very popular among local Indonesian districts.
Her last stage performance was in Karawang, West Java. Irma accidentally stepped on a king cobra's tail which bit her thigh immediately. But despite being bitten, her desire to perform and entertain the crowd outweighed her health and safety. She continued performing for 45 minutes after being bitten by the snake without taking any antidote. She then started to vomit and experience seizures and was rushed to the hospital, but it was a little too late as the venom has already spread to her body.
Many admired Irma's passion in her work, but sadly it was the sole reason that took her life away. Performers risk their lives to entertain other people, and Irma was dedicated in seeing people smile. Rest in peace to Irma and condolences to the family.
