It appears that there is a disease that has been discovered by health experts that is considered worse than HIV. Use of contraceptives like condoms help reduce the risk of transmitting STD's and significantly reduces the chances of an individual being infected with the disease.
One of the most dangerous viruses such as AIDS, HIV and Hepatitis B and C can be avoided with the use of condoms and practicing safe sex also reduces the risks.
While they are certainly helpful in reducing the chances of the diseases being transmitted, condoms are not entirely fool-proof. Cancer specialists at the Nairobi University discovered that a disease called Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is far worse than the aforementioned diseases. Reproductive health expert Nelly Mugo stated that Condoms offer 60 per cent of HPV thus the virus can spread through skin-to-skin contact with infected areas of the skin not covered by the condom such as the scrotum, anus, or vulva.” Surprisingly, there are about more than 100 different types of HPV, and 13 of these types can cause cancer. HPV types 16 and 18 contribute to about 70% of cancers globally. Finding out if you have HPV can be quite tricky, as tests are the only way to discover whether you have the disease or not.
A survey revealed that male condoms are the popular choice for contraceptives. Unfortunately, condoms also contribute to the spread of the HPV virus. The reason being is that condoms enable faster and wider spread of the disease for people with multiple partners.
Having intercourse is not the only way for the disease to be transmitted. The infection can get transmitted with physical contact as well such as kissing and touching someone who is infected with the HPV.
In order to prevent the disease from spreading, be loyal and faithful to one partner as having multiple partners increases the risk of having the disease transmitted. Also, avoid the disease by having intercourse with different partners.
