Pigs are normally held in pens, mostly suspended in the floor surrounded by their own feces. They are fed with various of food for they will mostly eat anything you will give them. From spoiled food to rotten vegetables and sometimes even the most disgusting thing we could think of.
Parasites in the food they eat can easily live inside of them and of course, the rotten food they eat gets digested and eventually gets absorbed into their tissue cells. And of course since we eat them, we get those too.
With this, a recent study was conducted to know the danger of eating pork. Consumer Reports did an examination to about 500 meat samples and turns out that 69% of it had been adulterated by dangerous chemicals and bacteria.
The research found out that Yersinia Enteroclitica, a dangerous microorganism that causes fever, gastrointestinal sickness, diarrhea, vomiting, and cramps had been observed to some of the samples. Additional findings says that Ractopamine contaminant was found and it's said that it causes death when consumed.
Apart from this, Trichinella was detected as well. It is a parasitic roundworm that causes discomfort, edema, fever and myalgia.

However, if we still wish to eat meat (specifically pork), it is suggested that we cook in on high heat to make sure that those intestinal parasites get themselves die before they even try to procreate inside our bodies.
