I just wonder if many of us are familiar with the term hybridism. Scientifically speaking, it is a kind of technological technique that merges two different parent species or varieties of a plant or an animal sexually or asexually to produce an organism bearing both of the parents’ characteristics. It’s a way to improve crops and livestock qualities for better yield and market value. But, would you believe that it can also happen with humans? It’s a controversy that has been of great interest to scientists and to ordinary people, dating back from the earliest biblical times as of the time of Noah.
You know what, since childhood, I have been fascinated with the so-called Bigfoot, the Abominable Snowman, and Yeti, whatever people want to call it. I just wonder why these creatures are so mysterious and very hard to find except for some incidences of sightings in some parts of the world. They come in different names depending on the country or location. Witnesses say that they look like humans, only that they are much taller, hairy and ape-like, and they rarely go out in the open.
I often watch this phenomenon on cable TV on the program “Finding Bigfoot,” wherein four itinerant Bigfoot seekers go in different locations including some parts of the world to interview respondents that actually had close encounters with Bigfoot, hoping that they themselves might have some personal encounters with those creatures as well and document them as proof that Bigfoot exists.
But did you know that there was a man in Sichuan, China who was believed to be a son of a human mother and a Bigfoot father. The video of this supposed hybrid man has become viral on the web. The man’s mother claims that she was kidnapped by a big hairy man or Yeren as what they call it, and she was raped repeatedly. Having escaped from her abductor, she stayed at her village, and after nine months gave birth to a baby boy, not knowing that the boy wouldn’t live to be normal. The boy had microcephaly. It’s a kind of neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by abnormal head growth, poor brain function, and shorter life expectancy. He died at the age of 33.
People who know of this matter have differing views whether the mother’s information is authentic or not, expressing their own opinions regarding the issue.
Despite the mother’s account on the alleged rape, others didn’t want to buy her alibi. They believe that the mother is just ashamed of having a retarded baby. In other words, she’s just making up a story of herself having been raped by a Bigfoot.
But on a scientific point of view based on physical observation, it’s unlikely for humans to have an ape-like behavior and anatomical structures commonly seen in apes like the gangly arms and the short neck. One thing more, there are no known records of microcephalic persons growing that tall like this so-called Chinese hybrid man.
