Being preoccupied with so many things, most irrelevant and useless, we lose time for our parents, and take them for granted. Only from time to time do we realize their worth behind all the wrongs that we see. This video, without a doubt hits the spot of right in the feels.
The story line revolves around a son’s troubled relationship with his father. With the kid at such a young age, it can be said that he may just lack understanding. But dwelling on the situation, he can’t really just learn about how life works… after all, he is just a kid.

Captioned with, “This boy never saw his dad as an inspiration, until he found out his big secret.” You can definitely see how young Mr. Lim felt about his father. He may have been completely aware of his father being a very hard working man, but for a purpose unknown to him. “A son confronts the resentment towards his father only to realize his true intentions.” However he may not have pondered about why too much, in the end it is revealed why his father had been the way he is ever since.
This short drama film, started out with the young “Mr. Lim”, living with his- what seemed to be- single father. Day by day he questions his father’s heavy labor and wondered despite of his dad’s diligence, they were still not rich. His father then valuably says that being rich is not about how much you have, but how much you give.
Only a kid, he figured he wasn’t happy unlike what his father said which bore bitterness and indignation against his father. Until eventually that he had received a scholarship and he was off to college before we know it. He then had a job that made him unavailable and lost time for his father (be it intentional or not). His father devastatingly dies from sickness which he kept from Mr. Lim –and apparently everyone else. This turn of events had Mr. Lim coming to know of his father’s true good intent.
This short film is only one of the many from Viddsee, an online website that offers and shares powerful short Asian films. Viddsee is dedicated to providing a platform for high quality content. A reliable source of feel good videos and short films.
With only a little over seven minutes, we learn that his father’s hard work pays off when he sees the children’s smiles and it really does go to show that somehow, when you give, you’ll be happier.
Powerful video message aside, if there is one thing we should always feel, it is gratefulness. We should always feel and show appreciation and thankfulness for everything and anything. With the sad reality, it seems it takes us an array of things to realize the value of something greater. We should learn from our mistakes and the pains and live this brief gift of existence. Because unlike in the video, it doesn’t always have to be too late.
