THEY DIMMED THE LIGHTS TO BURN US DOWN
I was told my school is being burned to the ground. I was informed the city jail is on fire. I was messaged the local hospital is taken over by these men in black hoods.
Roads were blocked, fire trucks were seized, and everyone is questioned of religion. If you can't prove you are a Muslim, you are "taken care" of.
I have received a message that my high school principal is taken as hostage. Along with her are many non-Muslims who strive to give education to young minds of Marawi. My sisters' classmates and their families are on their way to our house; they are running away from the threat of fire and bullets.
Black flags are raised to claim dominion of the city.
Hope is frail as of the moment.
I haven't heard from the local government since the mayor's interview with CNN where he is still yet to validate and collate information. "No casualties reported" he said.
Churches are torched. This ignorance of religious respect is on an all time high. This is taking away the culture and the history of Marawi, or my memory of it at least.
I grew up with non-Muslim friends and educators. I am where I am right now because of them. All the people who grew up from where I did are successful because of the community we were raised in.
Instead of our homes, our schools, our hospital, and our jails, burn your ignorant and false extremist beliefs.
We are being burned down. Help us.
I stand with Marawi City and all of the people therein. Please stay strong. Lend a prayer if you can. Open your homes to those in need if you can.
Religious leaders, Ulamas, and people of high regard and influence, step in and negotiate!
Lock your doors. Keep your windows low. Stay strong.

Sobrang nakakaiyak na ng nangyayari sa Mindanao today, specifically sa Marawi City. There is ISIS attack, roads are locked down by them, city jails ,colleges, chapels, houses are burnt. Patients from the hospital was pulled out, civilians were killed and gun shots are heard everywhere. Nakakatakot na nakakalungkot, andun yung mga Muslim classmates, and friends ko. Humihingi ng tulong, pero walang dumarating kasi hirap pasukin ng mga sundalo ang syudad. Yung lolo ko andun at palagi ng nakadapa kasi nagpuputokan pa rin daw frown emoticon Palalim ng pa lalim ang gabi, pa worst ng pa worst yung situation. One of my friend texted me, pls let know the people daw that ISIS IS NOT MUSLIMS, because there is NO Muslim who will use his co-Muslim as human shield which is totally true. Hindi yun naiintindihan ng iba, kasi di nila na experience makipag mingle sa mga Muslims frown emoticon pero pag nasubukan nyo, I guarantee mababait sila ,sguro meron lang iba na mas pinipiling hnd kaaya aya yung pagtingin ng relihiyon nya sa kanya, pero out 100℅ . I guarantee, 80℅ dun ay mababait na Muslims (base on experience kasi mababait talaga mga classmates ko na Muslims) . At ngayun , papalapit na yung pinakahihintay nilang Ramadan, at may dagok ngayon nangyayari sa bayan nila frown emoticon Umiiyak ako sa twing mag ssend ng updates yung classmates ko. Run-Hide-Fight yung rule nila para mabuhay. Ano ba kasi problema ng mga ISIS! Huhu. Ang nkakainis pa eh parang walang alam yung mga officials na ininterview sa media, kesho wala dawng casualties. Hello?! Huhu. But I understand siguro ayaw nila ipaalam sa media para di malaman at matutukan ng ISIS yung nangyayari at moves nila. Haysss
And now the President has declared Martial Law in the entire Mindanao, people are scared and nervous. But to my fellow men of Mindanao: If u are a good citizen and knows how to follow orders, then you'll be fine. The reason why most people freak out when they hear the term "Martial Law" is because of bad history. And they used history to define the term. You see, if you know how to follow orders and a good citizen who's not hiding something, then you'll be fine. Sure, some rights would be suspended, curfews implemented, but it's for our own safety.
