On a list of what could possibly go wrong in a marriage proposal, people might have to say a gazillion ideas and opinions, because in such a crucially challenging situation, “yes ” and “no” turns out to be just about the most difficult words to pronounce. And this case may perhaps be the perfect example.
At a fashion mall called Sherman Oaks Galleria in Los Angeles, California, a marriage proposal took place in its food court. Surrounded by hooting and whooping oldies and shoppers, a man named Ryan who was filled with romance decided to get down on his knees and pop the big question.
The girl’s name is Caroline, taken as a guitarist plays the song known as ‘Sweet Caroline’ that is a classic by Neil Diamond. After a whole year of being together, Ryan thought it was perfect to take Caroline back to where they first met and he then popped the question. Devastatingly, Caroline had both her hands covering her mouth the whole time, showing complete and utter shock. Her face was blank, nervous and readably terrified with what was going on that barely anything came out of her lips.
Ryan then broke the nervous atmosphere and said to his beloved (then –soon –to -be -wife but probably now –ex girlfriend):
'We met one year ago right in front of this Cinnabon,' he begins.
'I was dizzy in your presence, Caroline’.
'I love everything about you... I love how you curl up next to me on the sofa and purr like a kitten.’
'Make me the most happiest and dizzy man in the world.'
As tragic as this marriage proposal can be, the expected ‘yes’ did not even come to a ‘no’ and just ended up with an ‘oh my God, what are you doing?’ and a devastating walk out that left Ryan in shock as it was a bolt from the blue. He sure did look like he anticipated a confident ‘yes’. I mean, being turned down in front of (what didn’t seem to be a million people -but) old people cheering with hope sparkling out of their eyes might have made him realized he probably just missed the signs.
Planning to pop the question, however, takes a massive amount of courage and effort which makes this film meet the humiliating sort and puts it all together with a bunch of other embarrassing videos that have made its way to the trending world.
In the heat of raging prank videos that are growing popular all over the internet, it may seem quite hard to tell if this video is exactly fake or otherwise. However a following video (about three months later), filmed by two- ‘heartless guys’ as quoted from the majority of its top comments- showed Ryan, the man in the food court proposal fail. He confirmed it was him, and then began to be bombarded by questions and all his answers were in a total cold deadpan manner that had confirmed the fake accusations wrong.
One thing is for sure- that Caroline may have just ran for her life in the spur of the food court moment, and it is also best advised to stay away from that meanie camera man at all times.
