On the Halloween special of Eat Bulaga, held October 1st 2015, the hosts made their efforts to dress up for the said annual occasion but the “costumes” of Tito Sen and Joey De Leon has baffled netizens.
The said hosts had appeared to wear Arabic Clothing that has caught the attention of our muslim brothers and even our OFWs that are working in the middle east. The controversy has traveled to the ARMM Region and they do demand a public apology.
On their quote to the issue, they said that what they did is an obvious display of mockery to the muslims. The governor of the region gave his statement about the happening and it is as follows;
"This display betrays an insensitivity by these hosts, as they equated the Muslim garb as a costume to be feared, in the way that zombies and ghouls are to be feared," said ARMM governor Mujiv Hataman.
"What Eat Bulaga did in its Halloween Special was a mockery of and an affront to the image of the Muslim, apparently in the name of entertainment....On behalf of the Filipino Moro people, we demand that producers and hosts of the noontime show issue a public apology," Hataman added.
A lot of facebook users had given their opinions about the issue and a lot did say (especially our muslim friends) that what they did was very inappropriate.
"This is not a Holloween costume. In fact this is a proper attire of the Arab people," Hassan Al-Basri Dalanda stressed in another Facebook comment.
"Bakit sa Halloween mo yan sinuot Tito Sen? Ano akala mo sa aming Muslim, multo?" Racy-carr Salahuddin Aquino said in a comment.
